A woman is in a critical but stable condition after two humpback whales crushed her while diving off the WA coast.
The freak accident happened off Exmouth, leaving the 29-year-old woman with rib fractures and internal bleeding.
7NEWS Perth revealed that when she was sandwiched between two of the ocean giants, the woman visited WA’s picturesque Ningaloo Reef on a humpback whale diving trip.
She was airlifted into a critical condition this afternoon to Royal Perth Hospital where she will stay overnight and is expected to make a complete recovery.
It is known that she was not the only one hurt, resulting in the whole
diving crew being relatively close to the whales and many being treated for cuts and bruises.
