Nevertheless, police reported that she did not arrive as planned at Perth Airport and was found later that day at Scarborough home with her husband.
Police alleged that she had reached the WA by road after sometime hiding in a truck between 30 July and 11 August.
A spokeswoman for the WA Police said the conduct of Ms Van Der Sanden infringed the ‘hard border’ laws of the state.
“The vast majority of the WA community are doing the right thing, however everyone is reminded of their obligations to comply with any given direction when entering the state,” he said.
Further inquiries into how Ms Van Der Sanden entered WA and who may have helped her will be conducted, and more charges could follow, police said.
