West Australians were left confused by the Facebook post from Scott Morrison which seemed to relate to the border stoush with Clive Palmer on the state.
Although the post seemed to be about the prime minister making curry with his family at first glance, his WA connexion has caused online outrage.
Morrison took a variety of photos to his social media as he rendered the “Rajasthan Lamb Rhapsody” with a lengthy caption.
“It’s been another very busy day as we work to help Victoria get on top of the #COVID19 outbreak as well as working through some issues in WA,” he said in the post.
“And while we don’t always get there, whenever I’m home on a Saturday night, I try to make it a family curry night.”
Aussies from WA took to the comments section in the post to express their outrage over the phrase “working through some issues in WA”.
“’Working through some issues in WA…’ created by the Commonwealth supporting a High Court case brought by a mining magnate (who is a Liberal Party supporter), who didn’t meet entry requirements and subsequently had a tantrum,” Facebook user Kate wrote.
“Utterly disgraceful,” she added in her post.
Since then the prime minister has replied to the reactions, clarifying his views on the western state.
“Last night I said I had been working on some WA issues,” Morrison wrote.
“For those who commented, you can see from my attached letter to the WA Premier what we were working on.”
