A 27-year-old Victorian has clocked up 24 fines on Thursday night
for violating virus limits, with police last issuing him the $1652 fine.
A whopping 1531 people in the state got the $1652 fee twice, while Hallam’s worst rulebreaker is a 27-year-old who clocked up on Thursday’s 24th violation, The Sunday Herald Sun reported.
Victorian police yesterday issued 192 fines to anyone violating Victoria’s coronavirus limits, including 20 penalties for individuals found not wearing a face mask outside their home and 69 violations of Melbourne’s 8pm-5am curfew.
Cops also busted a five-year-old ‘s birthday party in the Gippsland area and found twenty people, including twelve adults and eight kids, celebrating inside.
Officers attended Saturday night at the Latrobe house, putting a fine on the woman who arranged the gathering.
Seven teenagers who held a house party in Warrnambool and a Hawthorn woman found parking in St Kilda have also been charged by police.
She had told the officer that she was searching for a grocery store to buy toilet paper but was lost.
For those who flouted stage 4 restrictions after thousands flocked outside yesterday to enjoy the mild winter weather, Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews had a stern message.
“Let’s not make any choices that put at risk all of the progress we have made and could render all of the sacrifice we have made it meaningless. We do not want that. No day at the beach is worth that,” he said.
Shared online videos and photographs showed that several people gathered in groups, some wearing their face masks around their heads.
