Owing to a stubbornly slow decline in coronavirus infections,
victorians are currently facing several more weeks of rough lockdown.

Prime Minister Daniel Andrews is set to officially
declare the sanctions would be extended later on Sunday.

But leaked modelling published by The Herald Sun suggests that
on September 13, as initially believed, Metropolitan Melbourne would not reopen.

Instead, existing limitations will proceed with
a few small improvements over several weeks.

They are likely to include allowing for singles visitors, a relaxation of
exercise rules and a small improvement in working conditions for some industries.
