On Friday Victoria is expected to report 451 new infections with coronavirus.
The number, published in The Age, is marginally lower than the sum of 471 cases reported yesterday.
Yesterday, eight people died, four were connected to old-age care facilities.
After midday, prime minister Daniel Andrews is expected to front the media. It comes after two men have been arrested for planning a protest, where hundreds of people are set to “fill the streets” and defy the lockdown of Melbourne.
The Facebook event – where 124 people clicked to attend and 384 others were interested – threatened to march the CBD streets to Parliament House at 10 am on Sunday.
“Let’s blow this one up and fill up the streets to show these criminals we won’t give up our country and livelihoods without a fight,” the Facebook event description said.
The two 41-year-olds will be charged for incitement and attend court at a later date.
