A group of vegan activists, despite the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, have stormed a Perth restaurant and accosted diners.
On Sunday evening, leaders of Direct Action Everywhere, an animal rights organization, posted a video about their “disruption.”
The incident took place in Subiaco, at the Lapa Brazilian BBQ.
Protesters could be seen shouting with signs and a megaphone as customers tried to eat their meal.
“It’s not food, it’s violence,” one man shouts into the megaphone.
“Humane slaughter is a lie.”
The chants run for about a minute until the party is approached by one diner, claiming it destroys its anniversary.
His suggestion that they “f * * * off” is ignored, and he takes the megaphone from the hands of a protester, walking it out of the room.
Despite this, the protesters continue until they leave, at the restaurant staff ‘s request.
A West Australia Police spokesperson told 7NEWS.com.au officers attended about 8.30pm but the protesters had already moved on.
“No offences have been detected,” they said.
