A pub at Upper North Shore in Sydney has been caught flouting social distancing rules with a massive crowd filmed queuing close to each other to get into the venue.
Nine News footage shows dozens of people clearly ignoring the direction of social distancing rules outside of Killara’s Greengate Hotel on Wednesday evening.
2 GB’s Ray Hadley said security guards only started to impose social distancing after the cameras were identified.
Nine reporter Damian Ryan told 2 GB that this would “harm” the ability of NSW to open pubs.
“There was probably 80 to 100 people outside the pub, and it was very reminiscent of what we saw at the Golden Sheaf,“ he said.
“The majority were just shoulder-to-shoulder.
“The damage is done: if there hadn’t been a cameraman there, and they weren’t brought to account, it would’ve probably persisted for the evening.”
The Golden Sheaf Hotel in Double Bay was fined $5500 earlier this month after photos appeared showing hundreds of people crowding outside the hotel.
