A man was charged yesterday after he allegedly spit on several police officers in Sydney. Around 6.30pm yesterday, police were called to a hotel on George St amid rumours of an altercation.
A man at Railway Square, at the intersection between George and Lee Streets was stopped by police.
The 32-year-old was taken into custody after failing to give information and trying to escape.
Police identified the man’s identity and a move-on order was given for him.
“After failing to comply, the man was arrested and taken to Day Street Police Station where he allegedly repeatedly spat at multiple officer’s while being held in custody,” NSW Police said in a statement.
He was charged with using offensive language in / near public place / school, failing to obey a order and failing to comply with an order of spitting and coughing that had been observed.
The man was refused bail to appear at Central Local Court today.
