Allegedly sniffing a substance off a cell phone while driving on a motorway, a Sydney driver was arrested.
Just before midnight on Friday, August 14, the 21-year-old was snapped by a mobile phone camera on Sydney’s M4 motorway at Wentworthville.
The photo of the incident shows the man at the wheel of the Hyundai i30 with his hands off.
As his passenger holds the wheel, he appears to be leaning forward towards the phone.
After an inquiry by the NSW Police Highway Patrol Headquarters, on September 15, the 21-year-old was charged with multiple offences.
“Police will allege in court that the man was sniffing a substance off his mobile phone while driving and did not have his hands on the steering wheel while the vehicle was in motion,” NSW Police said in a statement.
He is due to face court at Blacktown next month.
