Live TV cameras caught the dramatic moment when a nurse collapsed
moments after receiving a new COVID vaccine in the US.
Channel 3 news broadcast Thursday local time from CHI Memorial
Hospital in Tennessee Valley to report workers getting their first doses.
It was a day for the history books, and one of the first to receive the vaccine
was the critical care nurse Tiffany Dover-who told the people of America how the Jab was bringing hope.
“It’s been a hard time. We’ve persevered through it, but I think this vaccination offers us hope,” Dover told Channel 3.
But just 10 minutes after receiving the shot – and while she was still speaking to TV cameras – Dover became light-headed.
“All of my staff… we are excited to get the vaccine. We are in the COVID unit, so therefore… my team will be getting first chances to get the vaccine,” Dover said.
“And I know that it’s really … Sorry, I’m feeling really dizzy,” she trailed off.
Speaking afterwards she explained what happened.
“I have a history of having an over-reactive vagal response, and so with that if I have pain from anything, hangnail or if I stub my toe, I can just pass out,” Dover said.
“I felt a little disoriented but I feel fine now, and the pain in my arm is gone”.
