When it comes to close contacts with positive COVID cases, the Victorian premier has announced a new testing law.
Another four-week extension of the State of Emergency and the State of Crisis was declared by Daniel Andrews on Sunday.
He also announced additional testing criteria beginning from Monday for close contacts with reported cases.
“From 11:59pm on October 11, a person who has been deemed a close contact by Department of Health and Human Services must get tested for coronavirus on day 11 of their quarantine period,” Andrews told reporters.
“All of data, all the evidence suggests that a very, very high percentage of people are doing the right thing and I’m very grateful to them,” he said.
“But this is just about giving us an even more complete picture at the back end of that period where people are isolating.”
