Support for the Stage 4 restrictions of Victoria is slipping, with a recent poll showing that most people are now opposed to the tight rules and feel it is time to open up the state.
A majority, 56 percent, want Melbourne’s restaurants , hotels, clubs and cafes to be allowed to provide table service with proper social distance, according to the new Roy Morgan Snap SMS survey on Victoria’s Stage 4 restrictions.
That’s a massive 19 percent leap from the time the last survey was conducted three weeks ago.
A staggering 61% also agree that Melburnians should be able to move beyond the 5 km rule-up from 50 percent last time around-and a growing majority of Victorians-59 percent-say that residents of Melbourne should be able to visit their immediate families’ homes.
On a two-party preferred basis, however, the Andrews Government is still in the lead, sitting on 51.5 percent.
