A team member at a Costco warehouse in north Melbourne has tested COVID-19 positive.
A note was sent to workers at the Epping facility on Thursday, saying the worker worked between midday and 7 pm last Saturday.
Costco says it will closely interact with colleagues who are likely to have been in close contact with the person.
“This employee has yet to be contacted by the Department of Health, however as they last worked at our Epping Warehouse on 11 July 2020, we are taking all the necessary precautions to ensure our employees and members are safe,” Costco Country Manager Patrick Noone said in a statement.
“Costco takes seriously our responsibility to maintain the health and safety of our employees and members.
“We continue to institute social spacing controls, strict cleaning and sanitisation protocols and provide PPE for employees to use.”
Costco said it’s introduced an “immediate response” with improved procedures for cleaning and sanitation.
