A South Australian man has been charged with attempted murder following a violent and gruesome domestic incident in a rural town north of Adelaide.
A “violent disturbance” was reported at about 7pm on Thursday at a home in Clare, according to police, where a 39-year-old woman was found with a stab wound to the neck.
She was transported to Clare Hospital suffering non-life threatening injuries.
A 44-year-old man was discovered with stab wounds to the abdomen, and police will allege he attacked the woman who is known to him.
He was rushed to the Royal Adelaide Hospital in the state’s capital with injuries described by authorities as serious and self-inflicted.
The man has been charged with attempted murder, threats to kill and aggravated assault.
He was refused bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Friday via video from hospital
