Accused of killing his teenage girlfriend and throwing her body in a barrel, the man died in a hospital after being attacked in a Queensland jail.
Zlatko Sikorsky was taken from Wolston Correctional Centre to Princess Alexandra Hospital with head injuries after an altercation on November 10 with another inmate.
This morning, he was pronounced dead.
Queensland Corrective Service said inquiries into his death continued.
“The Queensland Police Service’s Correctional Services Investigation Unit is investigating,” they said in a statement.
“Our condolences go out to the man’s family and friends.
“Support is being offered to the responding officers and their colleagues at Wolston Correctional Centre.”
Larissa’s body was discovered inside a barrel on the back of a black ute abandoned at a residential complex at Stapylton on the northern Gold Coast, in 2018.
