The cloth face mask which covers your face can soon be a thing of the past.
Korean electronics and appliance manufacturer LG has launched an innovative air purifier mask that comparatively makes most face coverings look ancient.
At IFA 2020, LG will showcase the PuriCare Portable Air Purifier, a consumer electronics and home appliance trade show that is usually held in Berlin each year.
The event is closed to the public due to the pandemic, however, and most product demonstrations will take place on stages, as opposed to providing open booths for visitors.
LG will host a virtual exhibition alongside other items to highlight the new mask.
Two H13 HEPA filters are used by the LG PuriCare Wearable which are the same filters used in the company’s home air purifier devices.
According to LG it helps users to breathe in clean, filtered air.
The watch is fitted with a respiratory sensor that senses the wearer’s breath cycle and pace, and adjusts the dual three-speed fans accordingly, speeding up to assist intake of air or slowing down in exhalation to make breathing easier, the company said.
“The PuriCare Wearable Air Purifier is an exciting addition to our growing lineup of products designed to deliver meaningful health and hygiene benefits,” said Dan Song, president of LG Electronics Home Appliance & Air Solution Company.
“At a time when consumers are seeking ways to make life safer and more convenient, it’s important that we’re able to offer solutions that add measurable value.”
