After controversy surrounding the fact that the popular dolls have “invisible” lingerie beneath their outfits, Big W will remove ‘LOL Surprise Dolls’ from shelves.

Parents around the world were outraged after mother posted a clip of herself dropping the dolls in ice water and revealing undies.

“So inappropriate for children, you guys,” Hilary Williams said in her Facebook clip, which has since been viewed more than 30 million times.

“This is what we’re buying for them and not knowing,” she continued. “That’s not okay.”

Kmart, Target and Big W sold the dolls, the latter responding to complaints by removing the dolls from sale.

MGA Entertainment, which makes the dolls, said they recognise the doll issues and will take them on board, thanking customers for bringing them to their attention.
