A suspended driver and his mates were fined nearly $8,000 in Melbourne after telling police they are going to buy donuts.
Victoria Police officers patrolled in Narre Warren about 7.40pm on Saturday when they found a car avoiding driving past or alongside their vehicle on Narre Warren-Cranbourne lane.
Police found the driver, who was not the registered owner, was suspended when they pulled the car over.
The car didn’t display P-plates and the driver had three of his mates in the car.
He told police that they were gone to buy donuts.
The car got impounded at a rate of $1019.85 for 30 days.
The 24-year-old driver from Narre Warren is expected to be charged with driving while suspended on summons.
The driver and his three passengers, Narre Warren’s 19-year-old, Hallam’s 21-year-old and Hampton Park’s 20-year-old, were also found to be in breach of the Chief Health Officer’s directions, and each issued a penalty notice of $1652.
