On Saturday morning, Bystanders took pictures of passenger crowds standing shoulder-to-shoulder at Town Hall Station.
On a service to Bondi Junction one saw a passenger carriage crammed together.
One revealed a cramming commuters board to go up the escalator.
The involving train line passes via Kings Cross, near where a cluster of cases of coronavirus has appeared.
It’s believed that it was an isolated accident at one time, with hundreds of people disembarking the train.
A Transport spokesperson for NSW, however, said the preservation of social distance was important at all times.

“We are encouraging all our customers to practice good hygiene while on all public transport across the state; this includes not using public transport if you are unwell and keeping in mind the distance between you and others.
“We do need everyone to take personal responsibility when using our services to help us slow the spread of COVID-19.”
There is a cap on the number of passengers per carriage, in addition to requiring travellers to take responsibility for their distanceing.

It comes as New South Wales is recording increasingly more instances of local coronavirus transmission.
Saturday the state reported 17 new COVID-19 cases.
Just three were foreign tourists recently returned. In Victoria a fourth has contracted the virus.
