It has been revealed that one “lying” medi-hotel worker is responsible for slamming the nation’s toughest COVID-19 restrictions on the entire state of South Australia.
Premier Steven Marshall said inquiries found one of the close contacts linked to a positive case in the contact tracing team was misled by a worker at an Adelaide pizza bar.
The individual had informed authorities that he had only bought a pizza from the store when he had actually worked multiple shifts at the place.
“Their story didn’t add up. We pursued them. We now know that they lied,” Marshall said.
“The selfish actions of this individual have put our whole state in a very difficult situation.
‘We now know that they lied’ “To say that I am fuming about the actions of this individual is an absolute understatement.”
The disclosure has greatly decreased worries that the virus has spread rampantly in the population.
