Victoria has registered 279 new cases of coronavirus, as the state-wide numbers continue to stabilise under stage four restrictions.
The Department of Health and Human Services made the announcement on Sunday after discovering a “slight pause” occurred overnight in the processing of samples. In the 24 hours to Sunday another 16 people died.

As of Saturday Australia reported 23,035 confirmed cases of coronavirus and 379 deaths.
On Saturday, Victorian chief medical officer Professor Brett Sutton said there seemed to be a “stabilization” of the numbers of the Department.
