Cheeky teens use face coverings with coronavirus to dress up as retirees and buy booze.
Donating the face covers to hide their youthful looks, they make a few adjustments to their clothing and hair and find themselves walking out of the stores with bags of drinks, before posting the results on social media.
The craze is sweeping the social media video sharing app TikTok as teenagers manipulate the coronavirus epidemic to stop being questioned for drug recognition.
Multiple videos show teenagers applying white powder to their hair to emulate the grey locks of senior citizens and put on older clothing before falling into the liquor store.
One even decided to donate medical gloves to hide her youthful skin on her hands, while her young face was covered with the mask.
Unsurprisingly, a lot of video posts have gone viral, with a few in the millions.
Some describe the videos as ‘pranks,’ but others have been quick to point out that they were illegal.
One 18-year-old on TikTok said she used baby powder in her hair and put some in a scarf to make her appear ‘matronly.’
She managed to buy a bottle of wine complete with shades and face covering without being questioned.
She excitedly tells her followers that she’s “shaking”
She added that she would have “said I’d forgotten it in the car and left the shop” if she had been asked to provide ID.
Another viral hit shows an unknown age girl wearing her costume in her bedroom before driving into a shop.
Joined by friends, from a costume store, she puts on an OAP mask, with fake hair covering her face.
