Victoria reported yet another horror day of new cases of coronavirus, with 627 new infections over the past 24 hours.
Sadly, the virus killed eight more people, bringing the death toll of the state to 112 and the national toll to 196.
Premier Daniel Andrews reported two men in their fifties, two men in their seventies, three men in their eighties and one woman in their seventies passed away overnight in hospital.
“We send our love and support and condolences and best wishes to each of those families,” Premier Andrews said
Four of the eight deaths were residents of aged care homes, it’s known.
It has been disclosed in even more alarming news that 130 people who tested positive for COVID-19 were not at home yesterday when door-knocked by ADF staff and health authorities.
“It is simply unacceptable for you to have this virus and not be at home,” Premier Andrews said.
Over 100 of those were referred to the Victorian police.
